Key Responsibilities
- Actively assist qualified welders and fabricators in all aspects of daily tasks, including structural and general welding projects.
- Learn, practice, and apply various welding processes such as MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW) on different types of metals and components.
- Develop proficiency in accurately interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to ensure precise fabrication.
- Safely and efficiently operate a range of workshop equipment, including grinders, drills, saws, and lifting gear, under supervision.
- Prepare materials for welding and fabrication, which includes precise measuring, cutting, grinding, bevelling, and fitting components to specification.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations, actively participating in safety briefings and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
- Diligent engagement in formal TAFE training, completing all required coursework, assessments, and practical components to achieve your qualification.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Undertake additional workshop and site duties as directed, providing support to ensure smooth overall operational flow.
