Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Experienced Painter to join our dynamic team in the Glasgow Area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a painter who takes immense pride in their work, possesses a keen eye for detail, and is committed to delivering flawless finishes on every project. As an integral part of Bell Group UK, you will be responsible for a wide range of painting and decorating tasks across various commercial, residential, and public sector properties. Your role will involve preparing surfaces, mixing and matching paints, applying a variety of coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, and ensuring all work meets our rigorous quality and safety standards. You will be working independently or as part of a larger project team, collaborating closely with other tradespeople and project managers. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare various surfaces for painting, including cleaning, scraping, sanding, priming, and patching holes or cracks.
  • Apply paint, varnish, lacquer, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
  • Mix and match paints and other materials to achieve desired colours, textures, and finishes.
  • Inspect work to ensure the highest quality finish, correcting any imperfections promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on-site.
  • Safely operate and maintain painting equipment, tools, and scaffolding.
  • Work efficiently and methodically to meet project deadlines and schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors.
  • Protect surrounding areas and furnishings from paint splatters and damage.
  • Clean up work areas and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with regulations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Painter or Decorator.
  • Proficient in surface preparation techniques and various paint application methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of painting materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
  • Manual dexterity and good physical stamina.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating.
  • Experience with specialist finishes or commercial spraying techniques.
  • First Aid certification.
  • IPAF / PASMA certification for working at height.
