Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, ensuring all goods are correctly and safely placed.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices and delivery notes.
- Sort and stage products in designated warehouse areas, maintaining cleanliness and order.
- Operate manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks and trolleys safely and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation as required.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or potential hazards to the warehouse supervisor immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff, drivers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform general warehouse duties, including cleaning and maintenance of the work area.
Required Skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read, write, and perform simple calculations).
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in checking items.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of basic warehouse and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
- A valid Code 8 (B) driver's license would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Forklift operator certificate (an added advantage, not mandatory).
