Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wholesaler to join our dynamic team in Molo. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding our market reach for various agricultural produce, primarily cereals, within the Molo region and surrounding areas. This role demands a proactive individual with a deep understanding of local agricultural markets, strong sales acumen, and a proven track record in wholesale distribution. As a Wholesaler, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with bulk buyers, including millers, retailers, institutions, and other large-scale consumers. You will manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and initial contact to negotiation, order fulfillment, and after-sales support. This position requires meticulous attention to inventory levels, market pricing dynamics, and logistics coordination to ensure timely and efficient delivery of produce. You will also be expected to provide valuable market feedback to management, contributing to strategic planning and product development. This is a crucial role for someone passionate about agriculture and committed to contributing to national food security through effective market linkages and distribution strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective wholesale strategies to expand market share for NCPB produce in the Molo region.
- Identify, prospect, and engage with potential bulk buyers, including millers, large retailers, hotels, schools, and other institutions.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships through excellent service and regular communication.
- Negotiate sales contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to maximize profitability while ensuring competitive market positioning.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process, from order placement to delivery and payment collection.
- Monitor inventory levels at the Molo depot and coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods.
- Conduct market research to understand local demand, pricing trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market insights, and customer feedback to management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in wholesale sales or distribution, preferably in agricultural commodities.
- Strong negotiation and sales closing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the Molo agricultural market and buyer networks.
- Proficiency in inventory management and basic sales reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Kenyan driving license with a clean record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with CRM software or sales management tools.
- Existing network of bulk buyers in the Nakuru County region.
- Fluency in local languages in addition to English and Swahili.
