Key Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance of guests in designated waterfront areas (pools, beaches, water sports zones).
- Enforce all pool and beach rules, regulations, and safety policies consistently and courteously.
- Prevent accidents and minimize hazardous situations through proactive vigilance and intervention.
- Respond immediately and effectively to emergencies, including performing rescues, administering first aid, CPR, and AED when necessary.
- Educate guests about water safety procedures and appropriate use of resort facilities.
- Conduct daily inspections of rescue equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition and readily accessible.
- Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of pool decks, beach areas, and surrounding facilities.
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions to maintain and improve lifesaving skills and certifications.
- Provide exceptional guest service by answering questions and offering assistance.
- Document incidents accurately and thoroughly as per resort protocols.
Required Skills
- Valid Lifeguard Certification (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent international certification)
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED Certifications
- Exceptional swimming proficiency and water rescue skills
- Excellent visual observation and perception skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
- High level of physical fitness and stamina
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 months of experience as a lifeguard in a resort or high-volume recreational setting
- Additional certifications in water safety instruction or advanced first aid
- Fluency in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, French)
- Experience with various water sports equipment (e.g., paddleboards, kayaks)
