Naivas Supermarkets in Busia is urgently looking for a dedicated Warehouse Stocker to join our Packaging Section team. This critical role is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of products from our storage facilities to the sales floor, ensuring our shelves are always stocked with fresh and appealing merchandise. As a Warehouse Stocker in the packaging section, you will be at the heart of our supply chain operations, responsible for receiving, organizing, and preparing goods for display and customer purchase. Your daily tasks will involve handling a wide variety of products, from fresh produce to packaged goods, ensuring they are correctly sorted, labelled, and packed according to Naivas’ high standards. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a supportive team. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and safely store incoming products and merchandise in the designated warehouse areas.
- Efficiently sort, organize, and arrange stock on shelves and pallets within the packaging section, adhering to inventory management guidelines.
- Inspect products for quality, damage, or discrepancies upon arrival and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Prepare and package goods for transfer to the sales floor, ensuring correct labeling, pricing, and presentation standards are met.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and packaging area at all times.
- Accurately track inventory movements, including stock ins and outs, and assist with periodic stock counts.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, if required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operational flow and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling and organizing products.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and counting stock.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or retail stocking role.
- Prior experience specifically in a packaging or goods-handling section.
- Familiarity with inventory management principles and practices.
