Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to specified requirements and quality standards, maintaining high levels of efficiency.
- Utilize warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks (full training provided), safely and efficiently while adhering to all operational guidelines.
- Verify item numbers, product descriptions, and quantities against picking lists, ensuring absolute accuracy at all stages of the process.
- Assist with receiving incoming inventory, unloading shipments, and accurately stocking items in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform meticulous quality checks on products before packing and dispatch to prevent errors and ensure product integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse at all times, following 5S principles.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, actively participating in a culture of workplace safety.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets and operational goals.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or potential safety concerns promptly and accurately to management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operations, suggesting ideas for enhanced efficiency and safety.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks, technologies, and processes efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all picking and packing activities.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 25kg regularly throughout a shift.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read picking lists, count items, and understand simple instructions).
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential for maintaining operational flow.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a high-performing team.
- Commitment to maintaining and promoting a safe work environment for oneself and colleagues.
- Effective verbal communication skills for clear interaction with team members and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even informal) in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or fast-paced retail environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or the use of handheld scanners.
- Knowledge of basic warehouse safety protocols and best practices.
- Valid forklift operator certification (an advantage, but not a requirement for this role).
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
