Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor to join our team in Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of inventory, staff, and resources. This role requires a strong leader with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of success in warehouse management and a commitment to safety and efficiency. You will play a crucial role in optimizing our warehouse processes, improving efficiency and productivity while maintaining the highest standards of safety and accuracy. This is a hands-on role that will require you to be actively involved in all aspects of warehouse operations, from receiving and putting away stock to order picking, packing and shipping. Your keen eye for detail, ability to manage a team, and commitment to operational excellence will ensure that our warehouse runs smoothly and efficiently, supporting our company’s continuous growth and success. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Manage and supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure the integrity of the warehouse management system.
- Implement and maintain warehouse safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Optimize warehouse layout and processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve warehouse performance metrics, such as order accuracy, cycle time, and inventory turnover.
- Manage warehouse resources, including equipment, supplies, and personnel, effectively and cost-efficiently.
- Resolve conflicts and address problems efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and communication.
- Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management (minimum 3 years)
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Knowledge of inventory control and management principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Forklift certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Experience with various warehouse technologies (RF scanners, barcode systems)
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and compliance requirements
