Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all daily inventory control activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate a team of inventory specialists, fostering a positive work environment.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
- Utilise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory movement, locations, and data.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures, best practices, and safety protocols.
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, and suggest corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations, transport, and customer service teams to optimise inventory flow.
- Generate and analyse inventory reports, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Manage inbound receiving, put-away, and outbound picking processes related to inventory.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proven experience with inventory management and control systems (e.g., WMS, ERP).
- Strong understanding of inventory best practices, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a warehouse setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP EWM or similar advanced WMS.
- Forklift truck licence (reach/counterbalance).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Experience in a fast-paced 3PL (third-party logistics) environment.
