Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and reliable individual looking to kickstart or advance your career in logistics and supply chain? Bralirwa Plc is seeking dedicated Warehouse Assistants to join our dynamic team in Butare, Southern Province. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of our distribution network, ensuring our high-quality products reach consumers across the region efficiently and safely. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our busy warehouse, handling a variety of tasks that support our inbound and outbound logistics. Your responsibilities will span from receiving goods and managing inventory to preparing shipments and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

We operate on a shift-work basis to meet demand, which means flexibility and a proactive attitude are essential. You will be responsible for accurate stock movement, careful handling of products, and adherence to all safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free workplace. This role is physically demanding and requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern warehouse management practices, learn about product traceability, and contribute directly to Bralirwa’s success in delivering refreshing beverages to our customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities against shipping documents.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring correct product and quantity.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently (training provided if necessary).
  • Perform regular cycle counts and assist with inventory management to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Organize and store products in designated locations, optimizing space and accessibility.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and containers, ensuring products are handled with care.
  • Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to product quality and traceability.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (A-Level preferred).
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar operational environment.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects regularly (up to 25kg).
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for counting, reading labels, and completing forms.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality for shift work (day, evening, and occasional weekend shifts).
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment (certified preferred).
  • Basic understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Previous experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry.
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to speak Kinyarwanda and English fluently.
