Job Description
Are you a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused individual passionate about delivering outstanding dining experiences? The Nest Resort is seeking dedicated Waitstaff to join our evening restaurant dining team in Bugesera, Eastern Province. Your primary focus will be on providing attentive and personalized service to our diverse clientele. This includes greeting guests warmly, guiding them through our menu selections, accurately taking orders, and serving food and beverages with grace and efficiency. You will play a crucial role in creating a memorable dining atmosphere, anticipating guest needs, and responding promptly to requests. Maintaining a clean and organized dining area, setting up tables, and assisting with closing duties will also be part of your routine. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon their arrival in the dining area.
- Present menus, inform guests of daily specials, and answer questions regarding food and beverage items.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS system and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring presentation and temperature standards are met.
- Regularly check on guests to ensure satisfaction with their meals and service.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Clear and reset tables according to established resort standards.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, including wiping tables, cleaning spills, and ensuring condiments are stocked.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bar staff, and other team members to ensure seamless service.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Process payments and handle cash/card transactions accurately.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication abilities, both verbal and active listening.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and service delivery.
- Positive attitude and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 15 kg.
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a waitstaff or customer service role, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English; French is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
