Job Description
Career.supersecrets is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Waitstaff to join the dynamic team of a bustling, high-volume restaurant located in Nyaruguru, Southern Province. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat guests, presenting menus and daily specials with enthusiasm.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, ensuring all special requests and dietary restrictions are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to all service standards and etiquette.
- Monitor dining areas for cleanliness and organization, pre-bussing tables and resetting them for the next guests.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with a friendly and problem-solving attitude, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Process payments efficiently and accurately using the restaurant's POS system.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bar staff, and other front-of-house team members to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the restaurant's menu, ingredients, drink list, and daily specials.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as waitstaff or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a busy restaurant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of food and beverage pairing.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Certification in food handling or hospitality training.
