Pecado Grand Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Waitress to join our vibrant café dining team. As a Waitress, you will be the face of our café, responsible for creating a welcoming and pleasant dining experience for all our guests. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat guests upon arrival, presenting menus and informing them of daily specials.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, offering recommendations and answering questions about menu items and ingredients.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring presentation standards are met and guest preferences are observed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, serving stations, and condiments.
- Process guest payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash or card transactions responsibly.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively to requests or concerns to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Reset tables quickly and efficiently for new guests, adhering to high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the dining area, and restocking supplies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (at least 1 year) as a Waitress or Server in a café or restaurant setting.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable personality.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to multitask effectively.
- Basic math skills for accurate payment processing and change handling.
- Positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift moderate weights (e.g., trays).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service, or a related field.
- Familiarity with modern POS systems and efficient cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of local cuisine and a wide range of beverage offerings.
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages (e.g., Kiswahili and English) to cater to a diverse clientele.
