Career.supersecrets is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Waiters to join the restaurant teams of our esteemed clients located in the heart of Victoria Island, Lagos. Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon their arrival and escort them to their tables, presenting menus and explaining daily specials.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, offering recommendations and answering questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to all service standards and presentation guidelines.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, promptly addressing any concerns or requests to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Clear tables efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and preparing them for the next guests.
- Process guest payments accurately, handling cash and card transactions, and managing end-of-shift reconciliations.
- Assist with restaurant setup and breakdown, including setting tables, stocking service stations, and performing opening/closing duties.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance service skills and product knowledge.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Waiter or in a similar customer service role (minimum 6 months)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic numeracy for handling payments and making change
Preferred Qualifications
- OND or HND in Hospitality Management or a related field
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Ability to speak multiple languages (e.g., French, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) is a plus
- Prior experience in a hotel or fine dining restaurant setting
