Are you a skilled tailor with a passion for teaching and community development? Africa New Life Ministries is seeking a dedicated and experienced Vocational Trainer specializing in Tailoring and Fashion Design to join our impactful team in Rwamagana, Rwanda. As our Vocational Trainer, you will be instrumental in designing and delivering comprehensive, hands-on training programs that cover everything from basic sewing techniques to advanced garment construction, pattern making, and entrepreneurial skills relevant to the fashion industry. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for tailoring and fashion design, aligned with national vocational standards and market demands.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on training sessions to students of varying skill levels, ensuring clear instruction and practical application.
- Assess student progress regularly through practical exercises, projects, and theoretical tests, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain an organized and safe workshop environment, ensuring proper use and maintenance of sewing machines and other equipment.
- Mentor students on professional conduct, work ethic, and entrepreneurial principles relevant to the tailoring industry.
- Source and manage training materials and supplies efficiently, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with ANLM program staff to integrate life skills and holistic development components into the vocational training.
- Participate in community outreach activities to identify potential students and promote the vocational training program.
- Prepare regular reports on training activities, student performance, and program outcomes.
Required Skills
- Expertise in tailoring, garment construction, and fashion design techniques.
- Proven ability to teach and transfer technical skills effectively to diverse learners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various types of sewing machines.
- Organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Tailoring, Fashion Design, or a related vocational field.
- Previous experience (2+ years) in vocational training or adult education.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and working proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of local Rwandan fashion trends and market demands.
- Experience in entrepreneurship or small business management.
