Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
- Conduct thorough patient examinations, accurate diagnoses, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Perform routine and emergency surgical procedures, adhering to the highest standards of veterinary practice.
- Utilise in-house diagnostic equipment (radiography, ultrasound, laboratory) effectively.
- Communicate empathetically and clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventative care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Collaborate effectively with veterinary nurses, receptionists, and other team members.
- Participate in on-call rota as required (details to be discussed at interview).
- Commit to ongoing professional development and maintain current knowledge of veterinary best practices.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Required Skills
- Veterinary degree (MRCVS) and valid registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in small animal practice.
- Proven surgical and medical competency across a range of routine procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate and client-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging (e.g., echocardiography).
- Interest or certification in a specific area of veterinary medicine (e.g., ECC, internal medicine, exotics).
- Experience in mentoring junior colleagues or student vets.
