Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Safely and compassionately restrain animals for various procedures and examinations.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, surgical suites, and treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and sterility.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinary staff.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including sample collection, preparation, and basic analysis.
- Monitor animal patients before, during, and after procedures, reporting any changes to the veterinary team.
- Provide basic animal care, including feeding, walking, and maintaining comfortable and clean kennels.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring all medical notes and client communications are documented.
- Educate pet owners on basic animal care, post-procedure instructions, and medication administration.
- Handle client inquiries, schedule appointments, and manage billing as needed.
- Support inventory management, including stocking supplies and monitoring expiration dates.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting
- Demonstrated ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
