The Fonda Theatre is seeking a dedicated and proactive Venue Security Guard to uphold the highest standards of safety and guest experience within our historic Hollywood venue. As a crucial member of our operations team, you will be the eyes and ears of our establishment, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for every patron, performer, and staff member. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas of the venue, including entry points, performance areas, backstage, and common spaces, to detect and deter unauthorized activities.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and respond promptly to alarms or unusual occurrences.
- Enforce venue policies and procedures, including age restrictions, prohibited items, and behavioral guidelines, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Conduct thorough searches of individuals and bags upon entry, following established protocols.
- Manage crowd control and flow during high-traffic periods, ensuring safe movement within the venue.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with directions, information, and resolving minor issues.
- Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security threats, coordinating with emergency services and internal teams.
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs of daily activities and observations.
- Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement, emergency personnel, and other venue staff.
- Assist with artist and VIP security, ensuring their safety and privacy within the venue.
Required Skills
- Valid California Guard Card (BSIS)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in security, preferably in a venue, event, or hospitality setting.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Proficiency in de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.
- Physical fitness to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and respond quickly to incidents.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
- Experience with metal detectors and other security screening equipment.
- Familiarity with local laws and regulations pertaining to public safety and security.
- Prior experience working in live music venues or large entertainment facilities.
