Job Description

Are you a creative and empathetic UX/UI Designer ready to shape the future of property experiences? REA Group is seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic product design team in Melbourne. In this hybrid role, you’ll play a pivotal part in crafting intuitive, engaging, and visually stunning digital products that delight our users across various platforms. You’ll be involved in the entire design lifecycle, from initial research and ideation to wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and delivering polished UI designs. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs and behaviours.
  • Translate user research findings, business requirements, and technical constraints into compelling design solutions.
  • Create wireframes, flowcharts, storyboards, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Design high-fidelity user interfaces, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and design system principles.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, data analysis, and technical feasibility.
  • Actively contribute to the evolution and maintenance of REA Group's design system.
  • Present and defend design decisions to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX/UI design.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a solid understanding of user-centred design principles and visual design.
  • Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
  • Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.
  • Experience working in an agile or lean development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Experience designing for large-scale consumer-facing web and mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
  • Experience with motion design or animation for user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools to inform design decisions.
