Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage urban planning projects from inception to completion, including master planning, regeneration strategies, and policy development.
- Prepare and submit detailed planning applications, environmental impact assessments, and other regulatory documents.
- Conduct comprehensive site analyses, feasibility studies, and spatial data interpretation.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including local authorities, developers, community groups, and the public, through consultations and workshops.
- Develop and present compelling reports, proposals, and presentations to clients and decision-makers.
- Provide expert advice on planning policy, legislation, and urban design principles.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Contribute to the strategic growth and business development initiatives of the company.
- Stay abreast of current planning trends, legislative changes, and best practices in sustainable urban development.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in urban planning, ideally within the London context.
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy, legislation (e.g., NPPF), and development control processes.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and urban design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and public speaking.
