As a Truck Driver, you will be the backbone of goods transportation, responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of various materials and products to designated locations throughout the United Kingdom. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) for transportation of goods across designated routes.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
- Verify the contents of shipments against shipping documents before and after each delivery.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, HGV regulations, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage immediately.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) / CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable HGV driving experience in the UK or a comparable driving environment.
- Clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Excellent knowledge of UK road networks and driving regulations.
- Ability to complete all required paperwork accurately.
- Good verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of trailers (e.g., curtain-siders, box trailers, refrigerated units).
- Knowledge of working time directives.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor roadside repairs.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends when required.
- Proven track record of reliability and punctuality.
