Job Description
Are you an experienced and highly skilled Heavy Goods Truck Driver with a passion for the open road and a steadfast commitment to safety and efficiency? Rethabile Logistics is actively seeking a dedicated Truck Driver (Heavy Goods) to become an integral part of our dynamic team, based out of Swinburne, Free State. This presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to a leading logistics provider in the region, playing a vital role in ensuring the seamless, reliable, and timely transport of essential goods across various established routes.
In this crucial and hands-on role, you will be entrusted with the safe and proficient operation of our heavy-duty vehicles, expertly transporting a wide array of cargo for our diverse and valued client base. Your responsibilities will extend beyond just driving; they encompass a holistic approach to freight management. While the primary function of this position undeniably involves significant on-road time, actively operating our modern fleet and navigating established delivery routes, Rethabile Logistics proudly embraces a progressive hybrid work model. This innovative approach means that certain essential administrative duties—such as detailed route planning optimization, digital logbook entries and verification, comprehensive safety briefing reviews, and crucial reporting tasks related to trip data and vehicle condition—can be efficiently conducted remotely from your home base. This flexibility is designed to enhance your work-life balance and optimize your productivity during periods when you are not actively behind the wheel, ensuring you contribute effectively to our operational success from multiple fronts.
Your daily routine will be structured around precision and compliance, involving the meticulous performance of comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee roadworthiness. You will also be responsible for ensuring all loads are securely fastened, properly documented, and fully compliant with the stringent transport regulations of South Africa. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date driving records and diligently completing all necessary paperwork will also be key aspects of your role. Furthermore, as a representative of Rethabile Logistics, you will be the face of our company, interacting professionally and courteously with clients, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel, thereby ensuring that all deliveries are executed with utmost precision, efficiency, and a consistently high level of customer satisfaction. We are specifically looking for an individual who is not only a highly skilled and responsible driver but also a proactive problem-solver, possessing a strong work ethic and an unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of road safety and operational excellence. If you thrive in an environment that genuinely values professional growth, fosters teamwork, and is dedicated to the reliable delivery of essential services, we strongly encourage you to apply. This role is fundamental to our continued success and offers a robust platform for a long-term, rewarding career with a respected and forward-thinking industry leader.
