UPS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Truck Driver to join our growing team in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe and efficient driving, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport packages and freight across various routes, ensuring timely and secure delivery. The driver will be responsible for pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining accurate delivery records, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty trucks to transport packages and freight.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of packages to designated locations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional conduct.
- Assist with loading and unloading of cargo.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Experience operating heavy-duty trucks
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Strong navigational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with delivery route optimization
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Knowledge of the Newark, NJ area
- Hazmat endorsement
