Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule daily transport activities, including vehicle allocation and route planning, to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Monitor and track shipments in real-time, providing updates to relevant stakeholders and proactively addressing any delays or issues.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams to manage expectations, resolve queries, and ensure smooth information flow.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, driver logs, and other operational data.
- Assist with inventory management and warehouse coordination as needed, ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly transport reports, analyzing performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company policies, as well as national traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Support the logistics team with administrative tasks, data entry, and documentation pertinent to transport operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar administrative role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to act quickly and decisively under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with local geographical areas and routes within Rwamagana and the Eastern Province.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience using transport management systems (TMS) or other logistics software.
- Understanding of Rwandan traffic laws and transportation regulations.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and working proficiency in English.
