The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Tour Guide to lead captivating experiences for visitors exploring our local attractions. As a Tour Guide, you will be the face of our community, guiding individuals and groups through historical landmarks, cultural districts, entertainment venues, and hidden gems. Your role is to bring Shreveport’s stories to life, providing insightful commentary, sharing fascinating facts, and creating memorable, immersive experiences that leave a lasting positive impression on our guests. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and informative tours of various local attractions, historical sites, and cultural points of interest across Shreveport and Bossier City.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of local history, significant landmarks, cultural nuances, and current events relevant to our tour offerings.
- Greet tour participants warmly, provide clear instructions, and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the tour.
- Manage group dynamics effectively, ensuring all participants have an enjoyable and inclusive experience.
- Answer questions thoughtfully and accurately, drawing upon extensive local knowledge and research.
- Adapt tour content and pace to suit diverse audiences, including families, students, seniors, and international visitors.
- Assist with tour logistics, including scheduling, route planning, and coordination with various attraction venues.
- Collect feedback from tour participants to continuously improve the quality and content of tours.
- Represent the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.

- Exceptional verbal communication and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated passion for Shreveport-Bossier's history, culture, and local attractions.
- Ability to tell engaging stories and present information clearly and enthusiastically.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a tour guide, educator, or public speaker.
- Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Residency in the Shreveport-Bossier area with a deep understanding of the local community.
