We are seeking a skilled and passionate Textile Dyer, specializing in Adire and Kampala techniques, to join our creative team at Àdìre Elegance Owo. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare natural and synthetic dyes according to traditional and established recipes, ensuring colour consistency and quality.
- Execute various resist-dyeing techniques, including tie-dye (Adire Oniko), starch resist (Adire Eleko), and wax resist (Kampala), with precision and artistic flair.
- Wash, dry, and finish dyed fabrics, ensuring optimal texture, colour fastness, and overall product quality according to company standards.
- Inspect finished textiles for defects, making necessary adjustments or re-dyeing as required to meet rigorous quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with the design team to develop new patterns, colour palettes, and textile innovations while respecting traditional methods and cultural integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dyeing studio and workspace, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal of dyes and chemicals in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Manage inventory of raw fabrics, dyes, and other essential materials, meticulously tracking usage and reporting needs to ensure continuous and uninterrupted production.
- Train and mentor junior dyers or apprentices, sharing valuable knowledge and techniques to foster skill development and uphold traditional craftsmanship within the team.
- Actively participate in quality control processes, adhering strictly to company standards for all textile products from initial concept to final finishing.
