Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual patient assessments, including history taking, symptom review, and physical examinations via telehealth platforms.
- Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses, manage chronic conditions, and provide preventive care within scope of practice.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging) as clinically indicated.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication prescriptions, lifestyle modifications, and referrals to specialists.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease management, medication adherence, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough electronic health records (EHRs) in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, medical assistants, and care coordinators.
- Adhere strictly to all professional, ethical, and legal standards, including HIPAA regulations and state practice acts.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current with best practices in telehealth and primary care.
Required Skills
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas.
- Master's or Doctor of Nursing Practice (MSN/DNP) degree.
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).
- Minimum of 3 years of direct patient care experience as a licensed Nurse Practitioner.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and telehealth technology.
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse patient caseload effectively.
