Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual patient assessments, including history taking, physical examination (via telehealth tools), and psychosocial evaluation.
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic illnesses within the scope of practice, utilizing evidence-based guidelines.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory and imaging studies, as appropriate for telehealth consultations.
- Prescribe medications, provide medication management, and educate patients on proper usage and potential side effects.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate follow-up.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families on disease prevention, health promotion, and self-management strategies.
- Document all patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR) system in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, specialists, and support staff, to ensure integrated patient care.
- Maintain strict adherence to all relevant clinical guidelines, professional standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, state licensing boards).
- Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Active, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in Missouri (or eligibility for reciprocity).
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- National board certification (ANCC or AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of direct clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport remotely.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a caseload effectively in a remote setting.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
