Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual health assessments, including taking patient histories and performing virtual physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and injuries, as well as manage chronic conditions, within your scope of practice.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, such as labs and imaging studies, as clinically indicated.
- Prescribe appropriate medications, provide refills, and educate patients on proper usage, potential side effects, and adherence.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based guidelines and patient preferences.
- Provide health education, counseling, and guidance on preventive care, disease management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely electronic health records (EHRs) for all patient encounters.
- Collaborate and consult with other healthcare professionals, specialists, and primary care providers as necessary to ensure coordinated care.
- Adhere strictly to all state and federal regulations, professional ethical standards, and company policies regarding patient care and privacy.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with medical advancements and telehealth best practices.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of Florida.
- Master's or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
- Board certification as an Adult, Family, or Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP).
- Minimum of 3 years (36 months) of independent practice experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and comfort with various telehealth platforms.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective patient and colleague interaction.
- Strong diagnostic reasoning, clinical assessment, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate self-discipline, and manage a diverse patient caseload effectively in a remote setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a telehealth or remote patient care environment.
- Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish.
- Experience with specific EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Current DEA registration.
