Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced Primary and Secondary School Teachers to join our dynamic faculty at the International School of Mozambique. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and learning objectives.
- Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of formative and summative methods, providing regular, constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and mutual respect.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, share best practices, and participate in school-wide initiatives and projects.
- Integrate technology effectively into lessons to enhance learning experiences and support student engagement.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities, school meetings, and extra-curricular activities.
- Communicate effectively and proactively with students, parents, and staff regarding student welfare, academic progress, and behavioral matters.
- Contribute to the school's extra-curricular program through leading clubs, sports, or other enriching activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, assessments, and behavioral observations.
- Uphold the school's values and promote a culture of respect, responsibility, integrity, and global citizenship among students.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject area with a recognized teaching qualification/certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a primary or secondary school setting.
- Proven ability to create engaging lesson plans, deliver effective instruction, and differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs.
- Excellent classroom management, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) to a professional working level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience teaching an international curriculum framework (e.g., IPC, IB Primary Years Programme, IB Middle Years Programme, Cambridge Assessment International Education).
- Previous experience working in an international school environment with a diverse student and staff body.
- Ability to teach multiple subjects or year levels, particularly for Primary roles, or a second subject specialty for Secondary.
- Proficiency in Portuguese or another international language relevant to the school community.
