You will be directly responsible for the full lifecycle management – including installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation – of our crucial computer systems, servers, and various network devices. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and monitor server hardware and software, including operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and security hardening to ensure optimal performance and security of all systems and data.
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure components, including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs, ensuring robust network connectivity.
- Implement and manage comprehensive backup and recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity, availability, and business continuity.
- Provide timely technical support and advanced troubleshooting for system-related issues, collaborating with other IT teams and departments as needed.
- Develop and maintain clear, accurate documentation for system configurations, operational processes, and standard procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support and incident response to maintain 24/7 operational readiness.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and security events, taking proactive measures to address potential issues before they impact services.
- Automate routine administrative tasks and system deployments using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
Required Skills
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and/or Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Solid experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, vSphere, or Microsoft Hyper-V) including installation, configuration, and management.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs) and hands-on experience with network hardware configuration.
- Expertise with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user identity and access management.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues efficiently and effectively.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies and tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).
- Scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation of system administration tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, RHCSA).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) infrastructure management.
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (ITIL).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of storage area networks (SAN) or network-attached storage (NAS) solutions.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, SolarWinds).
