Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sustainability Reporting Analyst to join our growing team in Enugu. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing and implementing our sustainability reporting strategy, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. This involves collaborating with various departments across the organization to gather data, analyze findings, and prepare comprehensive reports aligned with global sustainability standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sustainability principles, data analysis techniques, and excellent communication skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant organization’s commitment to responsible business practices and make a real impact on the environment and society.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the company's sustainability reporting framework, aligning with relevant standards and best practices.
  • Collect and analyze data on ESG performance from various departments across the organization.
  • Prepare comprehensive sustainability reports, including narrative descriptions and quantitative data.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data reported in compliance with established standards and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in sustainability performance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant sustainability standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across the organization.
  • Prepare presentations and communicate sustainability performance to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of ESG principles and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, database software).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Project management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in sustainability reporting (e.g., GRI, SASB).
  • Experience working in a similar role within a large organization.
  • Experience using environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and communications.
