Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Supply Chain Officer to join our dynamic team, specifically focusing on optimizing our distribution network in the Zuba, Abuja region. This critical role is integral to ensuring the seamless flow of our diverse range of products from our production facilities to various distribution points, wholesalers, and retailers across the Federal Capital Territory and beyond. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire distribution process, from inventory management and warehousing to transportation and last-mile delivery. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving delivery timelines, thereby directly impacting customer satisfaction and market reach.

This position requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of analyzing complex data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing innovative solutions to streamline our supply chain operations. You will work closely with logistics partners, warehouse teams, sales departments, and external vendors to maintain a robust and responsive distribution network. Your expertise will be crucial in forecasting demand, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the end-to-end distribution network operations for the Zuba region, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Monitor inventory levels at the Zuba distribution center, coordinating with warehousing and production teams to prevent stockouts and minimize holding costs.
  • Oversee the selection, performance, and management of third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transportation vendors, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
  • Analyze distribution data, identify trends, and implement strategies for continuous improvement in areas such as route optimization, vehicle utilization, and delivery efficiency.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards across all distribution activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance departments to align supply chain strategies with business objectives and market demands.
  • Prepare regular reports on distribution performance metrics, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs), presenting insights and recommendations to management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, specifically in distribution or logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL).
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for supply chain modules.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams and external partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Supply Chain (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CIPS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or agro-allied industry.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and transportation management systems (TMS).
