We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Supply Chain Manager to join our dynamic team at Tesco PLC. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in optimising our end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient and timely flow of products from our global suppliers to our stores and distribution centres across Great Britain. As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, improve service levels, and drive sustainable practices. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor supply chain strategies to optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Manage end-to-end supply chain processes, including demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.
- Utilise advanced analytics and data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement and make informed decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, merchandising, logistics, and store operations teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
- Implement and oversee risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal company policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and embrace innovative technologies to enhance supply chain performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on supply chain performance to senior management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, preferably within the retail or FMCG sector.
- Proven experience in demand planning, inventory management, and logistics optimisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a team.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with supply chain modelling and simulation software.
- Knowledge of sustainable supply chain practices and ethical sourcing.
- Experience with large-scale retail supply chain transformation projects.
