Naivas Supermarket in Kiserian is looking for a dedicated and energetic Supermarket Assistant to join our team. As a Supermarket Assistant, you will be the face of our store, ensuring our customers have a pleasant and efficient shopping experience. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our store, from assisting customers on the shop floor to ensuring shelves are well-stocked and the store is clean and organized. You will work closely with other team members to uphold our high standards of service and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing information and guidance on products.
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using POS systems, handling cash and card transactions.
- Restock shelves, display products attractively, and ensure proper product rotation to minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment, including aisles, checkout areas, and storage spaces.
- Monitor product freshness and expiry dates, removing expired or damaged goods from shelves.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock deliveries.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve minor complaints promptly, escalating complex issues to management.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Support promotional activities and special offers within the store.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems accurately.
- Basic numeracy skills.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.

- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
