Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Studio Manager (Radio/TV) to oversee the daily operations of a dynamic broadcast facility in Funtua, Katsina. This pivotal role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong leadership, and creative vision to ensure seamless production and broadcast of high-quality radio and television content. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing studio personnel, equipment, and workflows, guaranteeing that all broadcasts meet the highest standards of technical excellence and artistic integrity. You will be instrumental in scheduling studio time, coordinating with producers, directors, and talent, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise during live or pre-recorded productions. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of radio and television broadcast studios, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor studio staff, including technicians, engineers, and production assistants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Develop and implement studio schedules, allocating resources and equipment effectively for various productions.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of all studio equipment, including cameras, microphones, mixing consoles, lighting, and editing suites.
  • Conduct regular technical checks and ensure all broadcast signals meet industry standards for quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate with production teams, program managers, and content creators to facilitate smooth production workflows.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues swiftly during live broadcasts and recordings to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and operational protocols within the studio environment.
  • Manage inventory of studio supplies and equipment, initiating procurement when necessary.
  • Train new staff on studio equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning for studio technological advancements and operational improvements.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in broadcast studio management (radio or TV)
  • Strong technical understanding of audio and video production equipment
  • Proficiency in broadcast software and automation systems
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with local broadcast regulations and standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Media, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Certification in broadcast technology or project management
  • Experience with live event production and streaming technologies
  • Knowledge of digital content delivery platforms
  • Fluency in Hausa is a significant advantage
