New Cruse FM, Ado-Ekiti’s leading independent radio station, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Studio Manager (Media) to oversee our state-of-the-art broadcast facilities. At New Cruse FM, we are committed to delivering high-quality, engaging, and informative content to the people of Ekiti State and beyond. Our station is a vibrant hub of creativity, news, and entertainment, and the Studio Manager is a pivotal role in ensuring our on-air product consistently meets the highest standards. You will be responsible for the overall technical and operational management of our radio studios, ensuring all equipment is functioning optimally, broadcasts run smoothly, and our production teams have the resources they need to create compelling content. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong leadership, and exceptional organizational skills. You will not only manage the day-to-day operations but also play a key role in strategic planning for studio upgrades, workflow improvements, and staff development. Your responsibilities will span from troubleshooting technical issues during live broadcasts to managing recording schedules, maintaining equipment inventory, and mentoring junior studio personnel. You will be the go-to expert for all technical aspects of our studio operations, ensuring our broadcasts are always professional, clear, and impactful. This role demands a proactive individual who can anticipate needs, resolve challenges swiftly, and uphold the technical integrity that New Cruse FM is known for. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of all broadcast and production studios, ensuring optimal functionality and readiness for live and pre-recorded programming.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all studio equipment, including mixing consoles, microphones, audio processors, broadcast software, and transmission systems.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of studio technicians and producers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Develop and implement studio operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, safety, and adherence to broadcast standards.
  • Coordinate with programming, news, and sales departments to facilitate smooth production workflows and timely delivery of content.
  • Manage studio schedules, equipment bookings, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks on all audio outputs, ensuring superior sound quality across all broadcasts.
  • Plan for future studio upgrades, technology integration, and budget management for technical resources.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of studio equipment and manage spare parts and consumables.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for all studio-related issues, providing immediate support during critical broadcast periods.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in studio management or a senior technical role within a media or broadcasting environment.
  • Strong understanding of audio engineering principles, acoustics, and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
  • Proficiency with broadcast automation software (e.g., Dalet, Enco, RCS Zetta) and radio playout systems.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure during live broadcasts.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of current broadcasting regulations and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Technology, Mass Communication, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in audio production, broadcast engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience with remote broadcasting setups and IP-based audio transmission.
  • Familiarity with visual branding elements for radio, including studio lighting and video streaming integration.
