Key Responsibilities
- Operate street sweeping vehicles and various manual cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collect and dispose of litter, refuse, and other waste materials from streets, pavements, and public areas.
- Empty public litter bins, replace liners, and maintain their cleanliness.
- Perform minor removal of graffiti and fly-posting as required.
- Report maintenance issues such as damaged bins, street furniture, road surfaces, or hazardous waste.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, areas covered, and waste collected.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, council policies, and environmental guidelines.
- Engage courteously and professionally with members of the public, acting as an ambassador for the council.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf collection, snow removal, or gritting during adverse weather conditions.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
