As a Strategic Planning Manager at Rakuten, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of our diverse business units. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine long-term strategic plans and roadmaps for Rakuten's core businesses and emerging ventures.
- Conduct comprehensive market research, competitor analysis, and trend forecasting to identify new growth opportunities and potential threats.
- Lead strategic projects from conception through implementation, including defining project scope, methodologies, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with senior management and business unit leaders to define strategic objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare compelling presentations and reports to communicate strategic insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and discussions to foster strategic alignment and cultivate innovative solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of strategic thinking and continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, corporate strategy, or a related field.
- Proven ability to conduct rigorous market analysis, competitive assessments, and financial modeling.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated project management abilities, with experience leading strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Business-level English proficiency (oral and written).
