Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products and making purchasing decisions.
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems, handling cash and card payments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including shelving and product displays.
- Monitor inventory levels, restock shelves, and assist with receiving and unpacking new merchandise.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, and provide excellent after-sales support.
- Communicate product features, benefits, and promotions clearly and persuasively to customers.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the store, ensuring security and readiness for business.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and customer service.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills in Kinyarwanda and basic English.
- Strong customer service orientation and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash accurately.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and inventory.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 15 kg).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, sales, or customer service role.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Familiarity with various product categories relevant to a general store.
- Ability to speak French is a plus.
