Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and mobile money transactions, ensuring proper reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring shopping baskets and carts are available for customers.
- Address customer inquiries, provide information about products, promotions, and store policies, and resolve minor issues or escalate as necessary.
- Assist with bagging groceries and other purchases, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Monitor checkout queues and call for assistance when necessary to ensure prompt service.
- Conduct periodic price checks and assist in restocking shelves near the checkout area when time permits.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and security protocols related to cash handling and customer service.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure a cohesive and productive work environment.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong basic mathematical abilities and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
