Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, provide exceptional service, and assist them in finding products or resolving inquiries with a consistently friendly and helpful attitude.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems, handling cash, credit, and mobile payments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment, including shelving, displays, and common areas, adhering to merchandising standards.
- Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise, ensuring proper rotation and placement on shelves.
- Monitor inventory levels, report discrepancies, and assist with inventory counts as required.
- Assist with product demonstrations and promotions to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
- Address customer complaints or issues professionally, escalating complex situations to management when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily operational goals and foster a positive working atmosphere.
- Open and close the store according to established procedures, including balancing cash registers and securing premises.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service or retail environment (even informal experience is valued).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to connect with diverse customers.
- A consistently friendly, positive, and approachable demeanor.
- Basic mathematical skills and comfort handling cash transactions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail setting, including standing for extended periods and lifting moderately heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda; proficiency in English is a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary school certificate or equivalent.
