Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders and reporting any discrepancies or damages promptly.
- Accurately sort, label, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations, ensuring optimal space utilization and adherence to storage guidelines.
- Execute picking and packing orders efficiently and precisely according to picking lists, preparing them meticulously for dispatch and shipping.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and trolleys safely and competently (training may be provided for specific machinery).
- Conduct regular inventory counts, participate in cycle counts, and reconcile physical stock with system records, assisting in annual audits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times, strictly adhering to all company and statutory health and safety regulations.
- Assist with loading outgoing shipments and ensuring proper documentation, including delivery notes and manifests, accompanies all deliveries.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify and implement process improvements for enhanced warehouse efficiency and productivity.
- Report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or potential safety hazards to the warehouse supervisor immediately to prevent incidents.
Required Skills
- Proven experience of at least 6 months in a warehouse or stock handling role.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in managing inventory and fulfilling orders.
- Ability to read and understand picking lists, invoices, and other essential warehouse documentation.
- Physical fitness and capability to lift heavy items (up to 25 kg) regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for operating inventory management systems and data entry.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a cohesive team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary school certificate (KCSE or equivalent) is highly preferred.
