Job Description

Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly organised and empathetic Specialized: Visa Sponsorship & Accommodation professional to join our dedicated team in Edinburgh. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in supporting our international candidates and employees through the complexities of UK immigration, visa sponsorship, and relocation processes. This is more than just a administrative role; it’s about making a tangible difference in people’s lives by facilitating their journey to a new career and home in Scotland. You will act as a primary point of contact, offering expert guidance, managing documentation, and coordinating essential services to ensure a smooth transition.

Beyond the paperwork, this role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine desire to provide comprehensive support. From initial visa applications to finding suitable accommodation and helping new hires navigate local services, your expertise will be invaluable. You will collaborate closely with various internal departments and external agencies, ensuring compliance and efficiency at every step. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end visa sponsorship process for international candidates and employees, including initial assessments, certificate of sponsorship applications, and visa extensions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all immigration and visa-related queries, providing accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Assist new international hires with accommodation search, lease agreements, and settling-in services, collaborating with local real estate agents and service providers.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all UK Home Office immigration laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and submit comprehensive visa application packages, liaising with legal counsel where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant government bodies, legal firms, and relocation service providers.
  • Provide cultural orientation and practical guidance to help new arrivals integrate into life in Edinburgh and Scotland.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all immigration cases, employee data, and compliance documentation.
  • Stay informed on changes in UK immigration policy and proactively communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement robust onboarding procedures tailored for international hires.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in UK immigration and visa sponsorship management (minimum 3 years).
  • In-depth knowledge of current UK immigration laws, policies, and procedures (e.g., Skilled Worker visa, Global Talent visa).
  • Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR/case management software.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience working within a recruitment agency or a company with a significant international workforce.
  • Knowledge of Scottish housing market and local services for new arrivals.
  • IOB (Immigration and Asylum Law) qualification or similar professional accreditation.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
