Job Description

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of UK immigration policies and a compassionate approach to supporting individuals relocating to Glasgow. The successful candidate will be a pivotal point of contact for international hires, guiding them through every stage of their journey from initial visa application to settling into their new accommodation. This involves meticulously managing visa applications, ensuring compliance with evolving Home Office regulations, and providing crucial advice on immigration pathways. You’ll work closely with our recruitment consultants and client HR teams to anticipate needs, troubleshoot challenges, and provide proactive support, making a tangible difference in the lives of our candidates. Your contributions will directly enhance our reputation as a globally-minded and candidate-centric recruitment partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end UK visa and immigration applications for international candidates, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Stay updated on the latest UK immigration laws, policies, and procedural changes, particularly those relevant to Skilled Worker Visas.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to candidates and client HR teams on visa requirements, eligibility criteria, and application processes.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for candidates regarding their relocation needs, including housing, local services, and general acclimatization.
  • Assist candidates with finding suitable accommodation in Glasgow and surrounding areas, connecting them with trusted resources and providing practical support.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive resources and guides for international hires on living and working in Scotland.
  • Liaise with the Home Office or other relevant government bodies as required to resolve queries or escalate issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases of candidate visa statuses and relocation progress.
  • Collaborate with recruitment consultants to identify and address potential immigration or relocation challenges for prospective hires.
  • Conduct pre-arrival briefings and post-arrival check-ins with candidates to ensure a smooth transition.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in UK immigration processes, specifically Skilled Worker Visas and sponsorship licenses.
  • Strong understanding of UK immigration law and Home Office regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or HRIS.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and ability to navigate complex situations independently.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals relocating internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, International Relations, or a related field.
  • OISC Level 1 or 2 accreditation is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working in a recruitment agency, HR department, or global mobility firm.
  • Familiarity with the Glasgow housing market and local support networks.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
