Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional support needs, both within the classroom and in other learning environments.
- Assist teachers in adapting classroom materials and activities to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
- Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies as directed by teaching staff.
- Help foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all pupils feel valued and respected.
- Support pupils with personal care needs, mobility, and communication as required, ensuring their dignity and well-being.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviours, and incidents, providing regular feedback to teachers and relevant staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to pupil support.
- Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and extracurricular activities, promoting positive social interactions.
- Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and general administrative tasks to support teaching and learning.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education.
Required Skills
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people, particularly those with additional support needs.
