Job Description

Novotel Port Harcourt is actively seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Spa Therapist to join our esteemed wellness team. As a Spa Therapist, you will be the cornerstone of providing an exceptional relaxation and rejuvenation experience for our valued guests. Key Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive range of spa treatments, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy massages, customized facials, invigorating body wraps, and gentle body scrubs, ensuring impeccable technique and utmost client comfort and safety.
• Conduct thorough and confidential client consultations to accurately assess individual needs, discuss desired outcomes, identify contraindications, and expertly tailor treatments to provide personalized and effective experiences.
• Maintain immaculate cleanliness, meticulous organization, and strict hygiene standards across all treatment rooms, spa facilities, and equipment, in strict adherence to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Educate clients articulately on various spa treatments, recommend appropriate retail products for home care, and provide expert advice to extend and enhance their personal wellness journey.
• Efficiently manage and coordinate appointment schedules, ensuring precise timing and seamless service delivery for all guests.
• Actively promote and confidently sell spa products, clearly articulating their benefits and correct usage to clients.
• Ensure all guests receive a warm welcome, professional, courteous, and attentive service throughout every stage of their spa experience, from arrival to departure.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, new treatment techniques, and product developments through continuous training, workshops, and self-study, bringing innovative ideas to the team.
• Assist with essential operational duties such as laundry management, inventory stocking, and maintaining spa supplies to ensure the smooth and efficient running of daily spa operations.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and any concerns professionally, discreetly, and promptly, always striving to ensure complete guest satisfaction and foster repeat business.

Required Skills

• Proven experience of at least 1.5 years as a Spa Therapist or Masseuse, with demonstrable proficiency in a hotel or luxury spa setting.
• Certified in massage therapy, aesthetics, cosmetology, or a related wellness field from a nationally or internationally recognized institution.
• Exceptional knowledge and practical mastery of various massage techniques (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, reflexology) and a diverse range of facial and body treatments.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, characterized by a friendly, empathetic, and highly professional demeanor.
• Exceptional customer service abilities and a genuine client-focused approach to every interaction.
• Unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of personal hygiene, professional presentation, and spa etiquette.
• Proven ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a valuable member of a dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-end environment.
• Reliable, punctual, adaptable, and flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as per operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional advanced certifications in specialized treatments such as hot stone therapy, prenatal massage, lymphatic drainage, or advanced skincare technologies.
• Prior experience working with internationally recognized luxury spa product lines and sophisticated spa equipment.
• Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., French, a prominent local Nigerian language like Igbo, Yoruba, or Hausa) to better serve our diverse clientele.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• A strong understanding of retail sales strategies within a spa environment.
