Job Description

AWPower is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Solar Panel Installation Technician to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding team, specifically serving our valued clients in the Spoegrivier and the broader Northern Cape region. This is a truly unique opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their expertise in a flexible, autonomous work model, managing their daily schedule and travel requirements while remaining a crucial, integrated part of our remote-first operational structure. As a Solar Panel Installation Technician, you will be the essential on-site presence, taking full ownership of project execution from conception to completion. Your primary responsibility will be the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of cutting-edge residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This encompasses a wide range of tasks, from the meticulous preparation of installation sites, including structural assessments and precise measurements, to the secure mounting of racking systems and solar modules. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the intricate electrical wiring – both AC and DC – ensuring all connections comply with national electrical codes and AWPower’s stringent safety and quality standards.

Your role extends beyond mere technical execution; you will embody AWPower’s commitment to excellence as a frontline ambassador, interacting directly with clients, providing clear explanations of the installation process, and ensuring their utmost satisfaction with the final product. This remote position demands a high degree of self-sufficiency, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. While you will operate independently on site, you will remain closely connected to our central project management team through various digital communication tools, receiving detailed project plans and providing regular updates on progress. Your base will be in Spoegrivier, but the nature of the role necessitates regular travel to various customer sites within the surrounding areas of the Northern Cape. We are searching for an individual who is not only technically proficient and safety-conscious but also possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with clients and collaborating effectively with remote team members. If you are deeply passionate about advancing renewable energy, thrive in an environment that values independence tempered with robust support, and are eager to make a significant contribution to South Africa’s sustainable energy future, we strongly encourage you to apply. AWPower is dedicated to providing comprehensive support, continuous professional development through ongoing training, and the exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art solar technology, shaping the energy landscape of tomorrow.
