Job Description
As a Software Development Engineer at Tietoevry in Riga, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and deploying innovative software solutions that power our clients’ digital journeys. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and other engineers, to define, design, and ship new features.
- Participate actively in code reviews, offering constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, helping to shape the future direction of our platforms.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues efficiently.
- Write comprehensive technical documentation for developed features and systems.
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge within the engineering community.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development processes and product offerings.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
