We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Developer with a specialization in Industrial Systems to join a prominent organization in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. This critical role involves the design, development, and implementation of robust software solutions for complex industrial control systems, crucial to the operation of large-scale petrochemical facilities and energy infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications for various industrial control systems, including SCADA, DCS, and PLC platforms.
- Integrate software solutions with existing industrial hardware, sensors, and communication networks, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.
- Develop and maintain real-time data acquisition and processing systems, enabling efficient monitoring and control of industrial processes.
- Collaborate with automation engineers, process engineers, and operations teams to gather requirements, define specifications, and ensure software solutions meet operational needs and safety standards.
- Perform system debugging, troubleshooting, and provide technical support for industrial software applications, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Implement and adhere to industry best practices for software development, configuration management, and version control in an industrial environment.
- Document software designs, code, test procedures, and operational manuals to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in industrial automation, control systems, and software development, recommending improvements and innovations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems (SCADA, DCS, PLC programming – e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Emerson, Honeywell).
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems and embedded systems development.
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL, Historians) for industrial data management.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and functional design specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development for industrial automation within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, or Utilities sectors.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Certifications in specific industrial control systems or software development.
